A new workshop is scheduled at Berkeley Community Media to learn how to write, produce or direct a low budget short film. It’s taught by Gini Graham Scott who has  produced over four dozen low-budget films and written a book about it available at Amazon.

The whole production can happen at BCM and it’s easy. Do some workshops and start using professional video equipment including HD cameras and sign up for the shooting and editing studios.

Make your own TV show or films in our full-service Large Studio, the second biggest studio in the East Bay! Or choose our simple,easy to use Express Studio which can be operated by one technician. This 4- part class will show you the basics of all aspects of studio production, from camera and lighting to audio and graphics. Take turns on crew positions as you produce actual shows. A comprehensive step- by -step overview from writing and casting your script to creating scene breakdown, shooting your film, working with an editor, and getting it shown. This two part workshop is taught by Gini Graham Scott, who has written and produced over 4 dozen low – budget short films.

Gini Graham Scott is going to be teaching the class. She is the author of  The Complete Guide to Writing, Producing, and Directing a Low budget Short Film, also used at the  Academy of Art in SF in their academic curriculum.  Her mission is to take creatives and put them together to work as a team. Showing that with the power of hard work, imagination and creativity we can make dynamic short movies with using as little money as possible.

Gini also believes that the heart  of all production is based off of a script. You will learn all of these skills to make a masterpiece of your own, to cherish and to give others the joy of your film.
